About conference

Modern urban planning in Russia poses a lot of problems. Two main of them is the preservation of cultural and natural heritage, including traditional livelihoods of indigenous peoples and the search for new forms of territory management in a rapidly growing urbanization and global trends of globalization.

The role of urban planning in the modern world – huge. Despite the modern sustainable development of urban development, in practice there remain a number of unsolved problems, open questions and discussions. For this purpose, as well as having extensive experience in urban design, methodological support, coordination and approval of documents of strategic and territorial planning of constituent entities of the Russian Federation and municipalities, zoning, planning and land surveying of territories, urban and rural settlements, the decision was made to hold an International scientific-practical conference "Spatial planning = sustainable development" in Crimea.

The conference was organized by the urban development companies in the country: OOO "Design Institute "Geoplan" (Simferopol, Russia), "research and design center for development of territories and marine planning, ONHP (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) and Scientific research Institute of perspective urban planning (St. Petersburg, Russia).

Why a platform for International practical conference chose the Crimea?

The Crimean Peninsula is a treasure trove of architectural monuments. Here are closely intertwined several ancient cultures with their history, languages and architectural styles. Despite its relatively small area of 26 860 km2, Crimea is teeming with different types of landscapes and climate zones. Unique features of the Peninsula (nature, climate, terrain) allow the use of non-standard solutions for the organization of comfortable living conditions and preservation of the wild nature.

The presence of a huge recreational potential, coexists here with the industrial and agricultural areas.

Crimea is a land rich in its historical and cultural values, there were ancient city of Chersonesos, Pantikapaion, and Naples. In addition to the cultural and architectural values, the Peninsula has a special geographical position. In the Crimea there's a special, seismically dangerous territory that requires city planners of high social responsibility, special knowledge and experience applied in practice. The solution implemented in the Crimea can be projected on other complex parts of Russia and other countries of the world.

The speakers at the International scientific-practical conference

In the International scientific-practical conference in the Crimea will make presentations to the employees of the ministries as well as representatives of the state Committee for state registration and cadastre of the Republic of Crimea, employees of the state cadastral services, researchers, and representatives of international, Federal and regional companies in the construction industry.

Main topics of the conference:

1) Strategic, socio-economic and territorial planning – a factor of sustainable socio-economic development of territories.

2) Zoning in the system of project study of balanced sustainable economic growth of Russian regions and municipalities.

3) Strategy of the spatial organization of constituent entities of the Russian Federation and municipal entities.

4) Marine planning, as a basis for optimization of Maritime activities and coastal infrastructure development.

5) Ecological and landscape survey, as the basis of selecting the strategic directions of the spatial organization of the territories.

6) The protection of cultural heritage in urban planning, as a factor of sustainable development.

7) The role of geographic information systems in planning and implementation of urban development activities.

8) Powers of Federal, regional and municipal bodies in the urban development and Maritime activities.

9) International collaboration, experience in methodological and project activities for sustainable development of territories and water areas, including cross-border cooperation.

The future of urban development

Urban planning in Russia (and globally) poses a global goal, which can solve the problems of the cities of the future, and rational use of land resources.

Cities of the future – it's complex with a developed network of modern communications, alternative power sources, and environmental construction, in order to preserve the ecosystem.

If you aspire to a better future, and want to share experiences or to acquire new knowledge in the field of Urban planning and spatial planning, we look forward to seeing you at the International conference "Spatial planning = sustainable development".

International scientific-practical conference "Spatial planning = sustainable development" organized with the support of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea, the Ministry of economic development of the Russian Federation and Administration of the city.

Location – Foros

Among all the amazing places of the Crimea conference venue chose Foros, which is located near Yalta. This small and cosy village, in different years, loved to rest, leaders, singers, writers and musicians. Been here once and the famous cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.

Foros (resurrection) Church

Another attraction of Foros Church, built on a steep cliff — red cliff. The temple was built in the Byzantine style, with internal supports – massive pillars, adorn this architectural wonder, the numerous dome. On the interior of the temple worked Russian artists: A. I. Korzukhin, V. E. Makovsky and academician.E. Crickets. The building was built in 1892.

Cape Sarych

Cape Sarych – the most southern point not only of the Crimean Peninsula and European part of the CIS (if you count all the Islands). Amazing landscape of the Cape attracts famous couples who organize a wedding ceremony on the background of rocky hills. One version says that the name of the Cape was obtained from the Turkish word "Sary" which means "yellow". The other version takes us back to the interpretation of the word "Buzzard" in the dictionary Dahl. There is this word a different meaning – a bird of prey, the kite.

It's not all unique places of Foros, the southernmost village of the Peninsula of Crimea.
